It's been a busy day so far -
We've played with buses, trains and cars,
and helicopters, planes and lorries.
We've fed your dogs and cats and bears
and copious amounts of dollies.
You've fed me too, with plastic food.
The usual - cake, ice cream and a lemon.
We've sung some songs: Row the Boat,
Mulberry Bush, Twinkle Twinkle and other classics.
We've spun around and around and around,
Got the play-dough out.
Wished we hadn't.
We've done a puzzle, sorted shapes,
Read a story and another and another,
Horse back ride, piggy back ride, flying angel.
We've done some drawing, mostly on paper,
Now and again on furniture.
We've built a tower, knocked it down,
Built it, knocked it, built, knocked, built, knocked,
More times than we care to remember,
Played peek-a-boo, bib-a-boo, tickle-me-too,
Been monkeys, doctors, dinosaurs,
Pushed trolleys, prams and walkers -
I've dragged you away from various dangers,
One after the other, after the other,
We've even watched TV to take a break.
It's been fun.
I looked at the clock a minute ago.
Half past eight.
Husband should be up soon!
